Carson-era Tonight Show Info
I had reason to visit the official Johnny Carson website today, prompted by an ad for a new best-of-Carson DVD set. He's still the best late-night host ever, in my opinion.
Now what does this have to do with Tracey? Well, the site has a Guest Search function, where you can search by name, date and date range. If you search for Tracey, you'll come up with a list of every time she appeared on the Carson-era show. Click on the show date, and you'll see a summary of that show -- not nearly as detailed as the summaries I do. I did find some big bloopers in the writeup for February 17, 1984: they got her song titles completely wrong ("Move Over Darling" was listed as "Make Love To Me", while "They Don't Know" was listed as "Three Of A Kind"). Here's how I wrote up her appearance that day, by the way.

Movie News
If you don't have any movie plans for Valentine's Day 2007, then make them, for that is what several sources, including IMDB and Comingsoon.net, are reporting is the new release date for I Could Never Be Your Woman. This features Tracey as Mother Nature, who is only visible to Michelle Pfeiffer's character. Let's hope this date sticks.

RIP Jerry Belson
I saw on the news wires this morning that comedy writer Jerry Belson passed away earlier this week. We Tracey fans will remember him for the work that he did on The Tracey Ullman Show and Tracey Takes On, winning three Emmys as a result. He also contributed to The Dick Van Dyke Show, Gomer Pyle USMC and The Odd Couple, among others.
After seeing this, I can't help but recall the passing of another key TTUS contributor, Ted Bessell. It was 10 years ago this month when I read of his death; I was on vacation in London at the time, and I was sitting in Trafalgar Square reading an international edition of USA Today. Let's remember both of them today.

Tracey in Toronto
This past weekend, Tracey was in Toronto promoting her new book on knitting Knit 2 Together, co-authored with Mel Clark (who was also in Toronto). I had thought about traveling up from Detroit, but it was not convenient for me. But I did let my friend, Torontonian Andrew Mitchell (of Tracey Ullman "Go Home" Page fame) know, and he was able to attend one of the events and finally get to meet her. But the reverse was also true: she finally got to meet him and thank him for the great work he's done on his site over the years. Yes, she has followed and still follows our websites. Makes me wish it hadn't been inconvenient to make the drive up the 401 last weekend.... Perhaps someday I'll get my chance.

Welcome to the new TTO Blog!
Welcome to the new format for TTO - Totally Tracey Online! I've decided to make the main page into a blog, which will take the place of the news page. Bear with me for a while while I tweak the page to get everything just so.
